When designing a custom framing, we consider the art, where the art will hang, your style and your budget. This helps to narrow down a selection of frame and matting.  

Here are a few tips to think about before bringing in your project: 


  • Decide where your framing will be hung prior to bringing in your art. This helps to narrow the style and colors to look at. 
  • Know your budget and let our designers know so they can help you select moldings, frames, and mats that work for you.  
  • A picture is worth a thousand words - take pictures of your room or the space where you are going to hang the finished piece or show us a photo of something you have seen that you like.


Don't be afraid to invest in framing! Even inexpensive art can give you years of pleasure when it has the right framing.

Butler Gallery has been framing art, photographs, heirlooms and collectibles since 1980.  Located in Hunt Valley, Maryland, residents throughout the Baltimore area bring their artwork to be framed by our expert framers because we love art! 


Framing work is all done in house using archival materials, such as acid free mats, and a variety of glass.  Our staff of seasoned designers are here to help give your art what it needs. Butler Gallery offers a wide range of frame options to fit your style and budget.


Custom framing usually takes about 2 weeks - we need time to get custom materials and assemble your framing. We do have a selection of ready made frames that we could have for you sooner if you let us know during design.
